The sea they saw was a far cry from the beautiful Baltic Sea of our imaginations. At the end of the day\u2019s sailing the group was convinced that something had to be done. Later that summer the pieces fell into place, and the observations made at sea together with the Bank of \u00c5land\u2019s background in environmental work formed the basis for the Baltic Sea Project.<\/p>\n<p>The mission of the Baltic Sea Project is to help the Baltic Sea by funding good ideas and inspiring people into action. With this simple process we can get our clients, our partners and the public mobilized and engaged.<\/p>\n<p>So far, we have contributed almost 5,5 million euros to environmental efforts. Our Baltic Sea accounts have played a crucial role: annually, the bank has donated a sum from its own funds to nature conservation, equivalent to up to 0.2% of the deposits on Baltic Sea accounts.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row row_height_percent=&#8221;0&#8243;
